IGUOBAZUWA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ovia South West Local Government formally unveiled Mr. Osarobo Osaro Anthony as its flag bearer for the upcoming April 3, 2026, Local Government primary election on Wednesday, with party leaders, urging peace and harmony among members.

Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, speaking at the Iguobazuwa Town Hall, lauded the party for zoning the chairmanship position to Udo Ward, a first in the area’s political history and described the move as a demonstration of fairness, equity, and unity within APC.

“Udo Ward has never produced a Council Chairman since politics began in Ovia South West. After careful deliberations, we have today presented our preferred candidate,” Idahosa said.

Highlighting the credentials of the party’s flag bearer, Idahosa said, “Osarobo Anthony is a son of Ovia South West, born and raised in Udo Community.

“He understands the struggles of rural residents, enjoys strong support from youths, and embodies competence, loyalty, and commitment to the values of our great party.”

He also praised the smooth selection of APC councillorship nominees across the ten wards, noting that the consensus approach reflects the party’s commitment to grassroots democracy.

“This shows that APC is united and focused on development. I urge all members, especially those who stepped aside voluntarily, to continue working for the party’s success,” he added.

Hon. Sunday Aghedo, representing Ovia South West in the Edo State House of Assembly, reassured party faithful that despite occasional disputes in politics, APC remains calm and cohesive, emphasising that the party’s supremacy comes from resolving differences amicably.
