An Exposé: Who Really Runs Planet Earth?

INTRODUCTION

The Bible presents a tension that unsettles many believers:

• God is declared the absolute Lord of Heaven and Earth

• Yet Satan is called “the god of this world”

Is this a contradiction?
Is Satan ruling the planet?
Did God lose control?
Or is something deeper at work?

Jesus Himself addressed this tension more clearly than anyone else.

PART 1: “THE GOD OF THIS WORLD” — WHO SAID THIS AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Greek Meaning

The phrase is Greek, not Hebrew.

• θεὸς (theos) – god, ruler, authority

• τοῦ αἰῶνος (tou aiōnos) – of the age, era, world-system

• τούτου (toutou) – this present one

➡ Literal meaning:

“The god of this present age”

This does NOT mean:

• Creator

• Owner of the earth

• Equal to God

It means temporary influence over the fallen world system.
