A 38-second clip that recently gained traction across social platforms depicts heavily armed militants rolling an ultrasound cart through a deserted healthcare clinic. Online commentators quickly alleged that the incident took place in northern Nigeria, presenting it as evidence of deteriorating security under President Bola Tinubu and the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Initially published by an account operating under the handle JezebelReborn, the footage circulated alongside assertions that villagers had fled the area following violent attacks, leaving the facility defenseless. Other widely circulated reposts amplified this narrative, drawing tens of thousands of views, shares, and passionate reactions from citizens who decried government inaction and questioned national security.

In the recording, men can be heard shouting religious phrases while moving the sensitive diagnostic gear, and an overlay in Hausa translates roughly to a remark about madmen in a hospital. The post ignited fierce criticism online, with several commentators arguing that the administration had lost control over remote regions.

However, an independent investigation revealed no supporting records from community members, local authorities, the police, or the Nigerian armed forces confirming that any clinic in northern Nigeria had suffered such an incursion in recent days.

Further digital tracing and open-source verification pointed elsewhere in the Sahel. Cross-referenced reports revealed that fighters affiliated with Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) had previously documented themselves handling diagnostic apparatus in northern Burkina Faso. Specifically, in mid-July 2024, the medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) confirmed that one of its healthcare outposts in Djibo had been ransacked and partially torched.

Around that period, conflict analysts monitoring Sahelian jihadist movements, including French reporter Wassim Nasr, shared imagery showing militants manipulating medical equipment following an assault on the besieged town of Djibo. Architectural comparisons—such as the distinctive window structures and the signature green-and-cream exterior and interior paint—strongly correspond to documented healthcare facilities in Djibo rather than any Nigerian location.

In light of photographic evidence and conflict timelines, the claim that this video captures terrorists inside a northern Nigerian hospital is false. The footage stems from insurgent activity in Burkina Faso.
