Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has failed to comply with a judicial directive issued by the Vandeikya Upper Area Court in Benue State, which ordered the recovery of N310,000 sent by mistake over a year ago.

The erroneous payment originated from a point-of-sale terminal operated on behalf of Ivash Global Services Ltd. The transaction mistakenly routed funds to an Ogun State-based pharmaceutical store.

Ashley Songo, proprietor of Ivash Global Services, stated that her uncle was handling terminal operations in their Benue hometown when the blunder occurred. Immediately after discovering the glitch, she sought intervention from her Moniepoint relationship manager, Anas Suleiman Sambo.

According to Songo, Sambo instructed her to procure a formal judicial order prior to escalating the case. He generated a tracking ticket (#10327296) for her complaint. Following his instructions, Songo secured the necessary legal papers and forwarded them alongside the transaction proof, the destination intended, and the erroneous recipient’s details.

Although Sambo promised the retrieval was underway and pledged to follow up, no progress was made. Frustrated by the lack of headway, Songo also lodged appeals via the bank’s digital help desk and visited their physical branch situated in the Banex area of Wuse 2, Abuja, yet the funds remained unrecovered.

The situation dragged on into December, when Songo re-engaged Sambo. The account officer voiced surprise that the problem persisted and directed her to visit Moniepoint’s state branch in Benue. However, the regional staff redirected her right back to Sambo, claiming jurisdiction lay entirely with him. Another follow-up sent on January 14 brought no resolution.

Sambo did not reply to WhatsApp queries or telephone calls regarding the matter. Furthermore, outreach to Moniepoint’s Media and Public Relations Manager, Awala Bemigho—who acknowledged receipt of the transaction records and court documents—yielded no official statement prior to publication.
